The Compilation of the Turkish Building Inventory

Project Objective

This inventory has been developed under the JRA-3 component of the NERIES Project, within the framework of the EU’s 6th Framework Programme, to serve as a rapid estimation method for ground motion fluctuations and losses in the Euro-Mediterranean region, and to be used as a sub-module within the earthquake damage module of the ELER (Earthquake Loss Estimation Programme) software. The building damage module utilises parameters obtained from the ground motion module, together with building inventory data, to estimate building damage and the number of casualties that may occur following an earthquake, using two distinct approaches based on both intensity and spectral ground motion.
